Zucker Takes on Iraq Study Group

Zucker does it again! David Zucker, the Hollywood director (Airplane, Scary Movie) turned conservative has created a great video that puts the recommendations of the Iraq study group to negotiate with Iran in a much needed historical perspective. With the announcement by Iran today that they are now a nuclear power what do we have to negotiate except for our own lives?

May 26, 1987 - Waterbury, CT, USA

Okay…. so I’ve never been one to have a serious opinion on UFO’s but I think I may be a believer. I got a call from Crystal tonight at 9:48 as she was coming home from work. She was rather upset and talking very fast into her phone and we spoke for 1:48min. So, what happened you ask? Well, she was looking at a UFO. We looked on the Internet for photographs of other UFO sightings and we found an image of what she saw! This was taken in Waterbury, CT on May 26, 1987.

Sony Madness

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but there has been a bit of a buzz about the new Playstation 3 gaming console. On ebay tonight I found 4 listings for a Playstation selling for over $10 million. Two sold and two didn’t. The record as of tonight was an auction that had a selling price for $20,000,000!!! I guess someone really loves video games!

Ebay Listing 06-11-28, Sony PS3

The list price for the Playstation3 was $599.00 and there were approximately 300,000 units available on the product release date. According to some blogs approximately 10% of the first units sold were resold on Ebay for “as low” as $900. I did see many sold between $5,000 and $500,000.

‘Scary Movie’ Producer Makes Campain Ad; Mocks Democrats

As reported by the Drudge Report 10/10/06.

The DRUDGE REPORT has obtained an exclusive copy of a “scary” campaign advertisement created by Hollywood producer and director David Zucker that was intended to be used by GOP organizations in the closing weeks of the 2006 campaign.

However, the advertisement was deemed “too hot” by GOP strategists all across Washington, DC who have refused to use it!

In the ad, Zucker, producer of SCARY MOVIE 4, recreates former Clinton Secretary of State Madeleine Albright’s 2000 visit to North Korea. During the visit, Secretary Albright presented North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il with a basketball autographed by former NBA superstar Michael Jordan.

An actress playing Secretary Albright is shown presenting Kim Jong Il with the Michael Jordan basketball, painting the walls of Osama bin Laden’s Afghanistan cave and turning a blind eye to suicide bombers. In one scene her skirt rips as she changes the tire of a Middle Eastern dictator’s limousine.

One GOP strategist said “jaws dropped” when the ad was first viewed. “Nobody could believe Zucker thought any political organization could use this ad. It makes a point, but it’s way over the top.”

Zucker is the producer and director of comedies such as “Airplane” and “The Naked Gun.” In 2004, Zucker, a longtime Democrat, embraced the Republican Party based on concerns he had about national security issues and voted for President George W. Bush.

Path to 911 Initial Reaction

Crystal and I just finished watching the first part of the ABC mini-series, “The Path to 911.” Cinematically it is a very captivating “action thriller” that rivals the most intense and well done action spy, CIA movies that have ever been done. I find the format of the film valuable, because instead of sitting through a dry intellectual documentary you are transported to the time and places of the events, you feel as if you are there as they are unfolding and that makes it more accessible to a larger audience and helps you to understand what happened.

Due to my limited knowledge of the actually conversations of those involved I can not make a judgment on the accuracy of that content, but I think that as a representation of the attitudes and events of the 8 ½ years leading up to 911 and as a film to understand our enemy in the war on terrorism the film is important. To understand the motivations and there capabilities of our enemies makes this film is invaluable and should be watched by every American.

We are NOT dealing with a rag tag group of Gorilla worriers who ride camels and herd sheep. Our enemy is highly educated, imaginative, and ruthless, and bent on the destruction or conversion of America to Islam. Nothing less. I was surprised by their use of technology, including advanced computer encryption techniques, and advanced explosives capabilities. I was also surprised by the internationality of the conflict and the vast efforts of the CIA and FBI.

In the nineties I was oblivious to the terrorism threat as were most Americans. It’s time for us to wake us to this threat. They have been at war with us for over 13 years now, it’s time we became committed to fighting back!

Well, I hate partisan politics…. honestly, I do! However, those loony democrates are up to there old tricks.

ABC is planning to release a docu-drama miniseris this Sunday and Monday at 8pm to mark the 5th year aniversary of 911. The miniseries is two parts and reportedly will be aired without commercial interruption. The movie is titled “The Path to 911” and cronicles the events leading up to the 911 terrorist attacks beginning with the 1993 bombings of the World Trade Center.

From what I have read from the movie reviews that film is based on the 911 commision report, interviews with CIA and FBI agents, among other first hand experiences. The film is said to be as accurate a protrayal of the events of the 8 years leading up to 911 that paints both the Clinton and Bush administrations in a bad light. I think most of us before 911 had little concern about terrorism nor thought it a serious threat, and that appathy exibited itself, for better or worse, in our politians as well. I have no problem with that, it is afterall the electorate that pushes policy, if there is anyone to blame it is the American people. Granted, our Presidents are charged with the duty of protecting us and should carry some of the blame, but it takes a strong, or stupid person, to go against the will of the people.

Why am I ranting about this you may ask? Well, old Bill and Hillary Clinton and there cronies in the US Senate and other places are fighting with all there might of intimidation and pressure for ABC to pull this “docu-drama.” I wonder what they are so anxious to hide?

Polygamist Sects Are Not ‘Mormons’, Church Says

Polygamist Sects Are Not “Mormons,” Church Says
29 August 2006

SALT LAKE CITY — Many news outlets are reporting on the recent arrest of fugitive polygamist leader Warren Jeffs, who is on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

Some media outlets have been very careful to describe Warren Jeffs as a “fugitive polygamist sect leader.” Other reports refer to Mr. Jeffs as a “Mormon,” “fundamentalist Mormon,” or as the leader of a “Mormon sect.”

Some may debate what the definition of a Mormon is, but terms like “Mormon Tabernacle Choir,” “Mormon Temple” and “Mormon missionaries” are universally understood to refer to the 12-million member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Quite simply, calling Warren Jeffs a Mormon is misleading and confusing to the vast majority of audiences who rightfully associate the term “Mormon” with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A Change and a new start

Well, Crystal and I have done the unthinkable….. we’ve moved! After graduation I had a number of job offers… okay 3, but hey, I that’s pretty good I think. So, there were two that I really had a hard time choosing between, one was to continue with GFH Architecture in Atascadero, where I had been working. The other was with Craig and Grant Architects in Danville, CA East of San Francisco. So after much deliberation, prayer, many Excel spreadsheets and tossing of coins we decided to move. We’ve now been here for 3 weeks and are enjoying the area. We do miss Atascadero, our friends, our co-workers, and our house, but are certain great things are still to come.
